Saturday’s fun begins with the Freedom Celebration Parade, sponsored by Good News Church, which kicks off at 10 a.m. at Hereford High School.

Kortni McConnell competes in the Breakaway Calf Roping event at a national qualifying rodeo in Abilene. The 16-year-old Hereford High School student qualified for the National High School Finals Rodeo July 19-25 in Farmington, N.M. It will be her first trip to the national event. A feature on McConnell and her upcoming trip to the NHSFR will appear in the sports section of the Sunday Brand.
